Snowdon
I recently completed a climb of Snowdon in Wales. This is something that I have been planning to do for some time (years) but had never managed to get around to.
It was a warm but hazy day and I made my climb from Llanberis, one of the many start locations - this one apparantly being the longest but least steep assent - it was a 9 mile round trip.
At the foot of the climb it was stated that the climb would take approx. 6 hours round trip. I made the accent in 2 hours 20 mins and the decent in 2 hours 10 mins (due to a stop at the half way cafe for coffee and chocolate) I thought this was good going - let me know what you think and what times you managed if you have scaled Snowdon from Llanberis.
I have found some information on Snowdon and added it below:
Snowdon is the highest mountain in Wales and is Great Britain's highest mountain south of the Scottish Highlands. It has been described as "probably the busiest mountain in Britain." It is located in Snowdonia National Park (Parc Cenedlaethol Eryri) in Gwynedd. The summit is known as Yr Wyddfa ("the tumulus") and lies at an altitude of 1,085 metres (3,560 ft) above sea level. In terms of 'absolute height' it is the same height as Table Mountain in South Africa. As the highest peak in Wales, Snowdon is one of three mountains climbed as part of the National Three Peaks Challenge.
